Ha ! My love would be traumatized by all that ink & the inky fingers. No way she’d even set foot in a pen show.

Nah, at an alleged barbecue.
My other pen is a Montblanc.
And my other blog is a tumblr!
And my latest ebook, for spooky wintery reading:

Nope. She was behind the counter at the photo shop.

I will have to have my wife go ahead of me to a pen show...then I can meet her there.
hehehe...

No.
Why, did you?

Nope. Spied her across the width of a symphony orchestra, she in the cello section, me in the percussion section. Pens came many, many years later... for me. She is still a grudging participant in that area!

I recall the Esterbrooks not only met at a pen show they got married at one...

It wasn't at a pen show, but a trade show that I first met my late wife. We talked very briefly and that was that until a few years later when I visited the organisation for which she worked and we met again for what we both thought was the first time. We started dating, and some time later when we were talking about past events, I remembered the trade show and asked her if she remembered our conversation.
Apparently, I'm not as memorable as I would have thought.

No. From different continents we met on a blog site but not a pen one - though coincidentally we were both fountain pen enthusiasts.

The only pen show that happens around these parts is about 1,000 Km away, so I would have been waiting a very long time; hardly to mention that she has no interest in fountain pens (but retains one she does not use).
As for how we met, it might have been when we both attended La Scala. Then again, it might not, because neither of us ever did.
It almost kind of goes without saying that most couples are likely to meet during a shared experience, so it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't the occasional pen show 'hook up'. My wife and I met through work.

AND... I would be derelict to not mention that Mrs Esterbrook (Lisa) may have been best man at a Pen Show Wedding, I don't remember the details but welcome someone that does to fill in the blank spots.
FB
I don't think that there were pen shows 40 years ago.
