If they truly believed it, how sad.

I wanted to comment on the "woke movement". Since you have a Times subscription, David Brooks has an interesting read this weekend. And, there was an interesting exchange on PBS Newhour Friday eveing between Caphart and whoever was filling in for Brooks. Youtube has it if interested.
I don't have a NYT subscription, but I'll check out the News Hour piece (I often watch it, but Friday I was under the weather). Without Brooks, though, it usually isn't as good.

    Get well soon.

I do agree that Brooks absence is always missed. The title of his op-ed is nthat Democrats need to confront their priviledge. M. Dowd's title is On Wokeness and Elections. I'll see if I can send in a PM.

Interesting exchange. The dude chilling in for Brooks sure identified with being white (and Capehart does with being black). I don't much like talk of what "America" wants. We are not a monolith, and we shouldn't be reduced to positions that simply poll over 50%. America is a diverse nation of 1000s of different "wants."

The discussion of Colin Powell was trite.

Everyone making over 70k per year and/or worth more than 300k in assets needs to confront their privilege (in both parties)! IMO, we have a lot of spoiled, whining babies in this country about money, taxes, and "freedom," when they are among the most privileged people in the history of humanity on this planet. Myself included (and I come from dirt poor chicken farmers and bricklayers).

    Great point Chuck.
Yes, absolutely! Biden checks both of your boxes.
Thanks for the help, I was worried that as usual you were going to try and drag Trump into your response.

It is hard to believe anyone would do this to the victim's family. And for what, personal gain?

Just something from an article I just read regarding a new book on Trump, that I will chose not ton read since I am exhausted.
"More than a year before the 2020 election, Karl asked John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff, what would happen if Trump lost and refused to concede. Kelly was sure that Trump would leave — and “if he tried to chain himself” to his Oval Office desk, “they would simply cut the chains and carry him out.”

It's hard to believe what a lot of charlatans do with conspiracy theories and intentional falsehood. America has a particular vulnerability to this, I think.

No ones going to die or do something stupid if she runs. It’s not always the case, unfortunately.

I think the 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse had wrong information that left two dead, one injured, and him in trouble. His gun served no deterrent, didn’t protect anyone including himself.

Of course you mean other than when Gaige Grosskreutz stood within 3 feet of Kyle Rittenhouse, pointing his pistol at him.
