If you're looking for wide-scale evidence of fraud in our election process, look no further than the GOP nominee signature process in Michigan:

Detroit News: Craig, Johnson, 3 others ineligible for ballot, Bureau of Elections says.

Capitalism seems more like a conspiracy every day.

Right now, the big oil companies are jacking prices and gouging, blaming the Russians to some extent. Quite a few have also cut production, to create a shortage. Not only are they reaping record profits, but they're pressuring Biden and congressional Democrats to allow more drilling, with lower lease fees and fewer regulations. The oil from any new drilling won't reach the market for 2-3 years, so it's not really a solution to the high retail prices.

Still, the Republicans are poised to blame high retail gas prices on the Democrats, hoping for election gains.

When huge corporations agree to screw the public, and offer support to the party that favors them, is that a conspiracy? Or just capitalism as usual?

TS fair enough. It is a multitude of foolish and/or fiendish actions by our currently leaders to sabotage our country.

Biden didn’t cause the demand for oil to increase.

    It's part of it.

Oil prices are commodity prices, like gold or soybeans. Price is volatile, and determined by speculators/investors; which is why it can change daily (or several times a day).

The world was waking up from the pandemic and wanted to move aka supply and demand. People blamed Biden's handouts for damaging the economy. Fact is, people didn't want to go back to work for $7 per hour. And, people wanted to move and buy another house. Again supply and demand. The POTUS has very little control over the economy. I never gave Trump credit for the economy he inherited. What a leader can do is handle a crisis by employing federal resources. That's how to judge a president.

Typical RWW knee-jerk nonsense. Since oil prices hit historic lows a few years back, producers have reduced their output, refineries are operating below capacity, and the industry as a whole is jacking prices as much as the market will bear, to increase profits.

"Keystone XL, an expansion of an existing North American pipeline, would have carried 830,000 barrels of crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska daily at its peak. At the time Mr. Biden halted its construction, the $8 billion expansion was only about 8% complete, according to Reuters.

Yet many experts agree that moving ahead with the pipeline wouldn't have prevented U.S. gas prices from climbing to a record high. Expanding the Keystone would have increased global oil production by less than 1%, an amount, they explained, is "almost negligible."

'I can see why people make that connection,' Nemet said. 'But in terms of gasoline prices and global oil prices, it's just something it's better to just ignore because it would have no impact.' "

True to form, the Republican politicos are claiming the January 6th hearing is a distraction from high gas prices.

I wonder what part of the retail cost of gas goes to lobbying (and ends up in Republican pockets?)

Probably not as much as what goes to increasing grocery prices.

While gas and food are a concern, folks are eating in restaurants and flying/driving to vacation.

You keep thinking that January 6th is more important than record inflation, and see how that turns out. You want more Trump? Because that's how you get more Trump.

You would think Democrats would remember James Carville's "It's the economy, stupid...".

    From Rasmussen:

As the average price of a gallon of gasoline nears $5, most Americans say the high cost has altered their summer vacation plans.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of American Adults say the rising price of gasoline has affected their vacation plans for this summer.
    From Forbes:

INFLATION: President Biden says, "There's nobody suggesting there's unchecked inflation on the way, no serious economist."
He might consult with his own Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The all items index increased 8.6 percent for the 12 months ending May, the largest 12-month
increase since the period ending December 1981. The all items less food and energy index rose
6.0 percent over the last 12 months. The energy index rose 34.6 percent over the last year, the
largest 12-month increase since the period ending September 2005. The food index increased 10.1
percent for the 12-months ending May, the first increase of 10 percent or more since the period
    ending March 1981.
