    Default WTB Sheaffer Imperial III

Been trying to find a Sheaffer that works for me, but not successful so far - tried a few.

So, looking for an Imperial III - as I understand it that's the one with the conical nib, plastic cap, and touchdown filler. Fine nib preferred.

There were several a while back at Peyton St Pens, but they don't seem to have a source for them anymore. They were NOS too - kicking myself for not jumping in then.

Anywho, if anyone has a lead for me to chase, that would great and much appreciated.

    Actually it's this pen:

This is a good choice in my opinion since these are very good pens with comfortable nibs. You can find them on ebay. Got mine from there.

PS: I remember that I have already talked with you about this model, you were not very enthusiastic at the time. sometimes it takes a little time to get used to a thought....

PPS: The imperial II is tthe same pen, just with a metal cap instead of plastic:

Hi Christof, yes that is the model. I think I prefer the plastic cap because I am assuming the metal cap would be a bit heavier to post. Other than that I guess both pens are the same. It does take a little time to get used to a thought! And again my apologies for being so negative about it all that time ago.

Overall I don't mind plastic Sheaffer pens. At one point I had one of the short pens with the inlaid nib, but I can't remember what they are called. And a PFM III, while desirable, is just too expensive to experiment with. I have always liked the conical nibs more than the inlaid ones for sure!

Edit, they are difficult to find on eBay due to many sellers not labelling them correctly, and I am very reluctant to buy on eBay now, so Looking for other seller options.

Edit2: PSP have just removed any hope of getting a NOS version.

I have one, burgundy, Touchdown filler, conical nib, fine or extra fine, not sure which. Shipping might be an issue from Michigan, USA.

Slightly confused. Some of the pens listed as Imperial III have a white dot and some do not. According to my reading of collector websites it seems they should have a white dot. Am I mistaken?

@pajaro, could you PM me with a price please? Shipping by USPS works for me, but I appreciate that getting to the post office may be problematic for a while.

I'm no expert at all but I think that both versions are correct. Sheaffer also used clips of different lenght on the same model.

Thanks, I've always found vintage model numbers and so on quite confusing.

Closing this one for now as it seems I should give thought to reconsidering my choice after getting some info from another member.
