Default Specific question on the Duofold

So I own a big red that I love. Yes n the cap ring it says parker with the logo. On the apposite side it says france.

I just bought a blue/black one from a reputable online shop and everything is legitimate from my novice eyes but the “france” is not stamped on the band.

Were these ever made without that stamping?

I have emailed their support team to ask how long this pen was on their shelves.

Adding a pic so you see the exact model I am talking about.

Any help would be great. Many thanks!

A part of me fears that its a fake though nothing else makes be believe that.

Are there fake Parker Duofold FPs?

There are many versions of fake Parker Duofolds from China. This doesn't look like one though

Why not? There are fake copies of the fake copies. Why lie when the truth is so bizzare.

    Create410

    It looks correct to me.
    I agree with Chrissy.

Can you please add images of the nib - front and back.

If you do this it will take seconds to decide.

My money is on it is genuine

I am inclined to think likewise. Pens that were made in the USA and the UK are not marked "France." The one you have is a sample of... one. The Chinese knockoffs usually have way too much chrome, and too little detail. They're getting better, but think about this for a moment...

You bought the pen from a shop with a good reputation. Why would they risk that reputation by selling a counterfeit instead of the genuine item?

It maybe better to wait on the OP's images of the nib ……………

If you would wish to add a few images of Parker good Duofold fakes from China, it would my pleasure to look at them.

Thanks for all the interaction all. Its much appreciated. The seller informed me that it has been there for a while but they could not definitely tell me hor many years.

I just noticed some discoloration on the nib when taking pictures. I wouldn’t expect that.

Some pictures of the nib. You can see the discoloration in the first picture (its so small and slight but there)

Also just a note, it writes extremely well. As well as the big red (better actually since its a Medium instead if a fine)

Now this bit if discoloration and the lack of “france” are my issues though I gathered from the above thread and other sources as well that not all DFs would have that on the cap band.

Nibs do tarnish given enough time because there are other metals in the gold, like copper, to make the metal stronger. It's been so long since I paid attention to the modern Duofold line that the fact that I don't recognize the nib pattern doesn't surprise me.

It looks like the Ace of Spades nib to me so - normal Parker Duofold nib. No problem.

    I agree with Chrissy.

    Your pen is 100% genuine.

    What a wonderful looking nib.

I believe that your pen was made between 2014 - 2016

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, one and all
