With many grateful thanks to junglejim I was able to do some testing on some of the Scribe inks before they went on general sale.
Obviously, since Dr Leighton Davies-Smith, the original designer behind Parker Penman inks, has now also designed the Scribe inks, many will want to know the answer to the question: Is Indigo anything like Parker Penman Sapphire?
Well yes it is. It's not as saturated and there isn't as much red sheen, but it's in the same colour range and I'm hopeful that it might become even more saturated when kept in a pen for a week or longer.
I really enjoyed writing with Indigo ink in my Parker Sonnet (18ct M nib.) I had no start-up problems, no skipping, no ink starvation issues. Flow and lubrication were both very good.
It didn't show through much on my Tomoe River paper. Dry time is fairly long but that's true for many inks on TR paper.
I didn't have a problem cleaning it out of my pen nor cleaning it off of my fingers. A really nice ink.
