Thanks for sharing this link. In my younger days, I was a fan of Sartre. My only incursion in the world of Simone de Beauvoir was her first novel, She came to stay. I really found the content of her letters powerful, a true mentor......

Thank you Bob, a good read.

I am reading the available correspondence to and from Wallis Simpson and the impact she had on world history.

A very good read of collected works is Letters of Note which is illustrated with the actual letters from the great and the good, an excellent and large coffee table book to dip into from time to time, it includes a letter from a boy to Frank Lloyd Wright ask him to design a dog kennel, another from Elvis to the President, another from Annie Oakley to the President asking hif her sharp shooting ladies could be of service, and many more.

On pens and letters there is a good exchange of letters in the public domain between Eisenhower and Kenneth Parker on the delivery of some special Parker 51s as a thank you to the eight people who went over and above their station in WW2 although I am not sure that a Parker 51 is sufficiently presidential as a thank you to people who changed the course of the War being admirals and generals. One of the letters from Eisenhower expresses the hope that Kenneth Parker's secretary is as pretty as she is capable.

YW, and thank you for the information about the letters between Ike and Kenneth Parker.

As I recall from the illustration in the book, Elvis wrote his letter to President Nixon on American Airlines inflight stationery. (?)

I remember a while ago when I was a Delta Gold Medallion flyer, it provided note cards to passengers in what was then Business Elite.
