For your consideration is a beautiful vintage Montblanc 149 from 1960-1965. The No. 9 14c tri-tone fine nib writes very smooth and lays down a juicy line. This 149 is an early 1960's model with groove face and shank ebonite feed, black threads on the pressure fit piston, and "Made in Germany" on the gold clip all appropriate characteristics for this era 149. The pen is beautiful and writes/performs very well. Aesthetically there are the normal micro scratches to the resin which is consistent with age, and a very small hairline crack just below the bottom gold bands on the cap of the pen on each side(very common) which is reflected in the asking price. It is quite difficult to see so I circled it for your review. It absolutely does not hinder the pen any way and the cap securely screws on and off as it should. The black Montblanc clamshell case is included with the sale and I am also including a brand new Montblanc 146 Heritage Leather notebook with gold cut edges still in the plastic wrap ($110 retail). Shipping and insurance is included to the CONUS only, payment via paypal. This 149 deserves to be used and written with often and is my hope for it with the new owner. Please email with any questions or concerns, thank you for your consideration.
Re: 1960's Montblanc 149, 14c Fine nib, Ebonite feed
Hi All. This is a good deal for a user grade pen of this vintage. The feed and the MADE IN GERMANY stamped on the clip place it pretty early in the 1960s. Assuming the piston moves smoothly there is a lot of life left in this pen.
