    Default Venus Pen

I picked up a couple Sheaffer pens at a flea market for 20 bucks. There was a third pen, a Venus, that the guy wanted to sell me but it was in poor shape. There was just no saving this pen. He ended up giving it to me for free. It looks like a new sack has been installed and the cap is in great shape as well as the nib, but chunks are coming off the barrel of the pen.
Will this nib fit any other pens?
Is there a barrel that might fit this, franken-pen style?
And if not, does anyone have need of a cap and nib for a Venus?
I just know if I throw this away a week later there'll be some use for it.
    Attached are some pictures.

Hang on to it! These are pretty attractive pens, and are somewhat interesting as one of the few lower tier gold nibbed pens from the 40s. A lot of them seem to have issues with the barrel like yours. I have found some nice ones where the gold nib was missing...probably yanked for scrap, decades ago. You might find one of those, or find one of the all striated versions with an alloy nib that you can upgrade.

These nibs are of decent size, similar to, say, a Waterman's no 4, so they will show well in a standard girth vintage pen. Unlike a Waterman's, they are made of thin-gauged and well tempered gold... Pretty springy.
Similar to some of the gold nibs from Wearever and Morrison Patriots of the same era.

I have the same pen in the grey striated cap. It is a nice pen and the nib is slightly bouncy. I have never pulled the nib to see what other pens it would work with but as the previous poster said, it does look like it would fit in a variety of older pens of the same era.

I thought these Venus nibs work in Esterbrook.

Venus did make some nibs that worked with Esterbrook but not all Venus nibs did so. The one shown and the Venus hooded nibs did not.
