Default Noodler Konrad Piston Knob Repair

I have a clear Noodler Konrad rollerball. I was filling it one day, and the knob separated from the shaft. There are no threads in or on either piece. They appear to have been glued together.

My question is what is the best glue to use? I thought I read at one time to use rubber cement. I bought a small tube of super glue designed for non-porous surfaces and plastic. Should I use one of these glues or something else?

Hmmm. That's never happened to any of my Noodler's. If it did, though, I'd try the Super Glue or the clear Gorilla Glue (the stuff that does NOT expand!), provided this is not a piece that might need to come apart later...

I am not sure. Let's suppose it might need to come apart in the future. Would rubber cement do it?

If I thought there would be a reason to take the knob off the shaft and the friction-fit wasn't holding steady, I'd use something less-permanent like a small dab of rubber cement. I've never had a Noodler's rollerball. All of mine are fp's. With a fountain pen, there would be no need to ever remove the knob from the shaft, but I simply don't know about a rollerball. There are a lot of people here with far more repair experience than me, but this is what I'd do.

I would use super glue to glue those parts together. A two part resin won't look as clear.

I'd go with a decent superglue as well. There should never be any need to separate the two parts and you want the mend to be as invisible as possible.

I am leaning towards the non-porous for plastic super glue now as well. The piston is identical to the fountain pen version. I know a lot of the newer Konrad fountain pens now have a pin in that cap so there is probably no need for it to ever come apart. Thanks all for your help.

Walmart has a version of the same in a different package...
