Default Soennecken 333 Extra Set - Striated grey celluloid.

Hi all, I was lucky to get this set for my collection, so I decided to share some pictures.

I am a long time fan of Soennecken. This particular set was part of the 3rd tier line of writing products that the brand offered during the 50'ies. They were produced in several colors and some are striated celluloids like this one.
From my experience I would claim this is a rare set especially because of the color. 333 sets Soennecken are not easy to find particularly in this beautiful celluloid.

Series 111 and 222 had the famous click mechanism. The 333 series didn't had that mechanism, and uses a simpler rotating piston mechanism to fill the pen and simpler clips. They are also slightly smaller compared to the 111 extra pens.
Although was a economy line, these are still very well made and of great quality pens. This particular nib is an M size and is a truly extra flex nib. Later I will photograph a writing sample to add here.

All 3 series were produced in 3 sizes, Lady, Superior and Extra. This set is a Extra size one.

The pen and pencil are in PERFECT condition and even the ink-window is still see-through.

    Hope you enjoy the pictures.!

Thank you! Indeed it is. Most of the times you can notice some kind of shrinkage in the 50'ies celluloids from Montblanc or Soennecken, but this one is really in perfect shape.
Looks like is was stored in a controlled environment.

"Controlled environment" - This expression always makes me smile and recall the famous "Philip Benz" collection that come out some years ago...
But this set is really in great shape and it was not vacuum stored!!!

Beautiful set! I love the color of that celluloid and the nib looks great. Looking forward to writing sample.

    Thank you all.

Here is the promissed writing sample pictures.

I did not need to tune the nib!! It writes very well and its a trully flex nib that can go up to almost 2mm wide. Check it out. Done using Waterman Absolut Brown Ink.
