Default WTB Sellers Beware Scammer Lurking

I received this message the other day in regards to my WTB post for a Sailor King of Pen

Kindly contact cortes in texas,he has Sailor King of Pen in togi nib for sale in good condition
    Here’s his email cortesshasta@aol.com

the message was a PM from this person who joined in January and has absolutely no activity on the site though I believe he has contacted other WTB posters:

After some back and forth he sent me stolen pictures from eBay.

So just a heads up that these guys are out there.

I got one of those too, months ago. Was fool enough to e-mail but luckily the scammer posted the wrong photos - completely different pen from the one I was looking for. I shudder to think that if they'd done their homework, I might have been taken.

Oh yes, for sure they are out there!
Some are more "stealth" than are others. A couple of them are "hiding" in plain sight.
As always, Caveat Emptor!! Do your due diligence!!

Same thing here. Luckily, like your case, the photos were of a pen totally different from what i was inquiring about. Duh.

This is a very common thing that has happened for a while on here for all WTB ads. The member name changes all the time and so does the email address. Just never reply or send an email response to the messages and report it to the admin.

It happened to me as well. Same guy. Yikes. It was the wrong pen in my case as well.

I had contact with goyetteham as well on my first/only WTB post. I wasn't fully sure so I didn't say anything but I am glad to know that I was right.

goyetteham: "Kindly contact Hall in Mississippi,he has rhodium plated OMAS Extra Flessibile nib for sale in good condition. Here’s his email hallholmes01@gmail.com."
Me: Hi, thanks for the information. Could you tell me who Hall is?
goyetteham: "He’s a great friend of mine"
Me (thinking): WTF are you that dumb

Same. I was asking about P51 parts and the following message:

Kindly contact Hall in texas,he has some Pen parts for sale in good condition
    Here’s his email hallholmes01@gmail.com

    My response was:

No offence intended, but I am not in the habit of contacting unknown email addresses put forward by an unknown and new FPGeeks member.I hope you'll understand this.

Is there sufficient evidence to report this to the admin and have the account removed?
