Yazeh, one last bit for complete clarity, and for when you do this again on other pens. I just received an old Sheaffer in the mail so I pulled it apart to take a photo:
I've lined the section up in relation to how it would sit in the barrel. You can see #1 is the area (nipple) that the sac goes on, #2 is the portion that slides tightly into the barrel, and #3 is the gripping area outside of the barrel.
This should illustrate that you have to measure barrel inner length, subtract the length of #2 since the nipple will now be further into the barrel, and then subtract the small amount more to keep the sac from touching the end of the barrel. It also makes a bit more sense when you see the pieces lined up like this. BTW, that is the 90+ year-old sac that disintegrated inside the barrel; I just dumped the remains there for the photo.

Thank you so much Fred for the edited image and patience.
I feels like the first time, I was learning to drive, but much more fun.
Thanks Jon.. The photo really helped. Did the measurements.
Sorry I used metric. I can all muddled up with imperial measurements.
#2 + end of the barrel = 7.5 mm + 0.8 mm = 8.3 mm
Barrel inner length = 80 mm (barrel itself was 82 mm)
Sac length = 80 - 8.3= 71.7 mm.
The sac or whatever left of the original is about 70 mm or 7 cm (0.4 inch).
I guess I don't need to cut the sac at all.
Alternatively, I can put a new sac, but it seems a pity as this one is barely a month old..
Re-use it. A sac lasts a minimum of seven years in normal use.

Unless a tiny hole is made in the latex as a result of handling and installation and removal and reinstallation, letting air in and letting ink blob out. If so, replace it. If you don't have a replacement, shorten it by cutting off the suspect bit.
The Pen Sac Company loves us.

I was anxious to see the tutorial, so I searched "It's Too Long" in videos. Not what i expected, but quite informative.
