Default Would this do for heating...........

Would this do for heating up a Fountain Pen to free it up for disassembly, cleaning and suchlike breaking down the Shellac etc. Or will it irreparably damage a pen whilst attempting this endeavour?
I don't own a Hairdryer and I think they'd be too large for the job anyway.
    Thoughts and advice most welcome.

That would work just fine - keep to the coolest heat setting (which is actually lower than many hairdryers) and lowest fan speed. Remember, if it's too hot for your fingers, it's too hot for your pen.

I have a similar one and it works just fine. Just be very, very patient and please don't ask how I know this.

Yep. Be careful, but that's what you want.

I always keep at least one of my fingers between the heater and the pen and never stop moving the pen.
If it's too hot and the pen is too close to it then that's the time it could become irreparably damaged.
