    Default Bargain of the day

I recently bought a mixed lot of mainly ballpoint pens and some pencils, primarily so I could provide a couple for my daughter to put in her school bag (which is NOT FP friendly), which included some very usable jotters, an immaculate lady scripto and a nice slim cross, which will go nicely with her everyday rose gold Century FP.

The whole lot was £4.50 plus slightly less again for postage for some 15 pieces, all bar one of which are eminently usable. So about 50p per pen. Something in one of the pictures the listing had caught my eye, but I hadn't really thought much about it. When I opened the post this morning, look what I found.

And it's immaculate. A very nice moment in an otherwise very dreary day.

You’re so right: that’s a sumgai bottle if ever I’ve seen one - congrats!

LOL Jon, I used the bottle as a prop because I'm so bad at taking pictures of pens - they always seem to topple over (and I couldn't find my museum wax). I'd actually just washed it out and I'm still finding the ink splats everywhere this morning.

I know it's got the wrong cap, because it's an English body (albeit with a fine nib) and the blue diamond clips were never used here, but it's very pretty on there and I've got a couple of decent spare caps that I can put onto if I ever needed to. The diaphragm is definitely on its last legs, but that's replaceable. I'm normally very much an aerometric fan, but I think this one is a keeper.

Well done, mizgeorge! Wrong cap or not, that's an absolutely exceptional buy.

And it's a beautiful cap. An all-around "wow" purchase.

    I totally agree with Jon

If it was mine, I would keep it as it is.
