Default 1942 Parker Vacumatic Major Emerald Pearl Fountain Pen

I know very little about early 1940's Parker Vac's

    This one caught my eye.

    Thought it was rather nice.

    Any thoughts, from anyone, please

Looks pretty nice. Barrel looks a bit ambered, but overall, the pen looks decent. Good starting price that may give room for some bidding. These are nice vintage pens. The two tone nib looks good, but bear in mind that these are almost always quite firm.

Small detail, but the section does not have the breather tube. The breather tube is mentioned in the description, but does not show in any of the images. Perhaps seller can verify. It is essential for proper filling. Finding a replacement would at least require some hunting and postal costs.

I almost liked the look of it enough to want to repatriate it. Seller doesn't apparently ship to USA. Saved.

I'm pretty sure I can make the breather tube out, through the barrel as per the description, in photo 2: you can see its curve through the front of the barrel, ending about a third of the way down.

Odd that it wasn't shown in the disassembled shot.

    # edit: I don't think it is a reflection...

    Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

The (replacement) breather tube is present though difficult to see on the picture (photo 7).
Isn't that nib too early for a 1942 Vacumatic?

I suppose that breather could be in that view.. I figured that it was a good idea to verify with seller. Yes, agree that the nib is from First gen Vac, with "USA" above "PARKER".

A great many thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate them all.

The seller says that a new breather tube is fitted and shown in image 7.

As for the nib .....is it correct for the pen.

    Many thanks

Edit - Did abit of research, this seller sold a better one for £92
