    Default Troublemaker Abalone

(Waterman 45 Safety ..... Troublemaker Abalone)

If you look close you can see the different colors:

The multichromatic character is showing up even if you just wipe you nib:

But really dramatically are ink washes:
Notice that this was done only using Abalone, but due to itīs multi-chromatic nature the multiple colors inside this blue ink show up when washed.

It is also a nice drawing ink

And last but not least abalone is also a excellent writing ink:

So Troublemaker came up with a really good ink with a nice color, great shadings and special multi-chromatic character.

Great review Ptero.. Funny how the close ups looks so different and complex compared to the main photo

Looks great! I'm just waiting for these to come back into stock in the UK - there are a whole bunch of colours I really like the look of, and they're a pretty decent price too.

Although Abalone is out of stock, all the other colours appear to still be available at AFTH in the U.K.

Ooh! I didn't even realise Dyan sold them, which I should have done. I'll drop her a line to see if it's worth waiting or whether to just order the others I want now - thank you

I've been looking around and reading reviews of some of these inks but find that there are complaints about them being very dry in all but hosepipe pens. I remember trying Freedom Park Rose as a mystery ink and remember that behaved well in my Moonman pen but on balance I think I'm going to cross a bottle of Abalone off of my list.

Chrissy, when the Troublemaker ink site had inks available, they had different wetness for the inks. If memory serves me right, it went from very dry, dry, normal to very wet.. that might have been a factor....

No options are mentioned on the UK bottles I've seen available.

Thank you for taking the time to do this review.

TM Abalone is a very nice ink. I purchased mine shortly after they were first introduced into the U.S. At that time they offered varying degrees of wetness. I chose a wetter version. It is basically the same as the less wet version but the multi-chromatic effect is different - more apparent on some papers and less on others. It also seems just a bit darker. It is a very nice ink.
