I write letters when I can, and even illustrate the envelopes .
It’s a very special thing to spend a couple of hours sometimes to send a letter to someone… one could say …a meditation .

Two takeaways from the Tribune:
(1) He wrote to an author and received a reply, rather than putting it off so long the author died before a letter was sent, and
(2) Peter’s article refers to typed letters while the photo illustration shows female hands and a fountain pen.
Robalone-meditation is a good description.
