So many colours, local or regional editions of the Safari. To put together a whole collection is almost impossible task.

Absolutely wonderful information christof. I'm not a great fan of the Safari but have a couple including a Dark Lilac, Orange and Pink. Not sure why I picked those particular three?

After buying the Starbucks rollerball in this gorgeous green, I found that starbucks had even applied different greens of their CI to different LAMY Safari
source: https://creative.starbucks.com/color/
So I called that nice gentleman from Feng Yuan Pens in Hong Kong again and asked him to send me the second version of the Starbucks green as well. The fountain pen is a slightly darker green than the rollerball (I would have preferred the reverse )
but here's a comparison:
from top down:
Petrol 2017
Starbucks Green (roller ball) 2022
Starbucks House Green (fountain pen) 2022
Savannah 1980/2021
The only thing I've ever wanted is to own an example of each safari color. But if it goes on like this....

I gave up after 3. So pleased I did.
Actually I just checked and my 3 aren't even all Safaris. I have the Safari dark lilac and two Al-Stars in copper orange and pale green that for some reason I put away and didn't use.

When I started this project more than 10 years ago, there was one (!) SE color each year. Back then that seemed manageable to me.
In order to document the colors correctly and also to be able to compare them with each other, one should have them at hand in my opinion. To continue the project on the basis of pictures from the Internet seems absurd to me. Please remember that before Chris Wallace and I documented and published the color table, this information was not available - not even at LAMY itself(!)

For the moment I am still fine with buying a couple of new colors each year. (LAMY Safari are not like Ferraris from a financial point of view.) My concern is for the future, if the cadence should still increase. In the past, promotional imprints were placed on pens from the range.
Today, every big company can afford its own Safari color. That's basically what I don't like. But collecting is like smoking or drinking - hard to stop once started....
btw: In the context of a company like LAMY, I would avoid the word infinity. Time will show how long I can stand. Maybe even longer than LAMY itself...

This is a great collection of Lamy Safari pens. I already have few Chinese knockout pens . Their nibs are good, but all of them have some issues of cracked on the sections by time of getting used.
By the way I just bought some (it is about 13 Safari pens and Lamy Joy Calligraphy pens) They are all authentic used Safari pens and some Lamy Joy calligraphy pens. I am still waiting to get them delivered to my door on one of the days. I love Safari Ef pen nibs and they are amazing.

I also gave up and now just buy the colors that really appeal to me. I did get the 2024 Violet Blackberry just cuz. I wish they’d make more colors for the Lamy Joy as I love a desk pen length.
