    Default The meaning of "Godron"

I've heard of Godron in connection with a design on a pen (or indeed other objects) but have never really known exactly what it is.
However, this made me chuckle this morning when I found someone who has probably not heard of it or has gone along with his spell check correction of the word:

Waterman Gentleman Fountain Pen 18k gold nib - Gordon Gold plated - Mint boxed

Love it. I wonder how well it goes with tonic?

In all fairness, Siri may have some culpability in this. Don't ask her about Benefit Cost Analysis during a meeting.

That's a great word. We've all seen the design on antiques but probably didn't know a word for it. The word in English is gadrooning.

I thought it was a portmanteau of gadabout and poltroon

    Or a spoonerism of dragoon.
