We don't know what we don't know
Hi Sandy, if you click "go advanced" instead of "post quick reply", you will be taken to more comprehensive post editor.
An icon of a paperclip will appear on the top line of editing tools, next to the yellow smiley face.
You can then upload photos from your computer and insert them into your posts.
Let me know if you need clearer instructions.

The information is under the FAQ tab^^^ Reading and Posting messages - Attachments and Images.
Manage Attachments is the really simple and effective way to go. Then you can add images directly from your computer. If you go from Edit Post then you will need to click on Go Advanced to add your image to the post. Then you just scroll down to Manage Attachments and the rest is simple.
(I never even noticed there was a paperclip)

If you're more visual, here it is:

If you're using the last example image that is Manage Attachments then Insert Inline and Done makes the paperclip icon shown in image 2 redundant. You just line up your cursor on the line where you want your image and press Insert Inline.
If you add images via Manage Attachments you need to use them in a post within an hour or they disappear from your attachments as unused.
Once you have uploaded your attachments you can always find and use them again or delete them from your profile page: Settings at the bottom of the left hand side column.

We don't know what we don't know
Let me see, if it will work:
S2000026.jpg
I've tried this half a dozen times now: When I want to insert photos into an already existing thread, the photo is displayed as above.
But if I want to open a new thread myself and insert a photo into my own thread, then this photo is apparently inserted in its original size, i.e. huge, completely blurred and heavily cropped.
Is there anything to be aware of?
[QUOTE=Carloa;327366]Let me see, if it will work:
Your photo looks perfectly fine - clear and sits within the window boundaries (i.e. no scrolling needed).
