Thank you! And you are welcome! Unfortunately, all modern fountain pen factories, regardless of brand, have reduced quality control and this is strange given the constant increase in prices for these products. Alas, the products of Italian manufacturers are noticed by me to a greater extent (of course, with the exception of Chinese manufacturers).

Hi everyone! Today I want to show another “masterpiece” of the Chinese fountain pen industry – the implementation of morphing in reality.

Wing Sung 628 (made in China) Q/YQUB 1040

The design of this pen is made in the shape of a classic torpedo or a cigar, for whom it is more convenient to name it, of black resin reminiscent of “precious”, since it glows in the same dark red in the light. The filling system is cartridge-converter, but the format of Japanese brand from Big Three – Sailor – was taken as a basis. Cap on thread, 2-start thread, closing/opening in 1.5 turns

Cross Solo Classic 806-2M Navy BL CL (made in USA) 1996

The shape of this tool is cylindrical with tapered ends. The body material is dark blue plastic, but the tops on both sides are made of black plastic, like the section. Filling system – cartridge-converter, proprietary Cross format, for converter second type 8751 without thread (like Cross Townsend). Cap on thread, two-start thread, closing/opening in 1.5 turns.

S.T. Dupont Classique Mk2 Godron (made in France) 1980-1999 41170M

The shape of this pen is straight cylindrical with flat ends, which is made in accordance with the fashion trends of their time and the popularity of the legendary Italian model Aurora Hastil, which I mentioned in the previous review. There is an opinion that this body of the first generation models were made entirely of sterling silver, but the body of the second generation models are silvered. But if a yellow metal similar to brass is visible inside the main body, then the cap is made of a solid material, so I will assume that the cap is still silver, and the body is made of jewelery brass with rolled(?) silver. I did not find the stamp of 925 sterling silver either on the case or on the cap. The design has a ribbed shape with deep grooves, which the manufacturer called Godron. The filling system is cartridge-converter by international format. Cap on friction which closes with S.T. Dupont’s branded click is well known to the fans of Dupont’s lighters.

Pilot Custom 743 w|FA nib (made in Japan) FKK-3000R-B-FA

This tool repeats in almost everything the Pilot Custom 742 with FA nib, which I previously reviewed, with the exception of small nuances that I will show in updates. The shape of the body is a cigar (torpedo) with rounded ends and is made of “precious” black resin because it also glows red in the backlight. The filling system is a cartridge-converter, of its proprietary Pilot format, all converters from start Con-20 to the top Con-70 can be installed in the body. Cap on thread, 2-start thread, opening/closing in 1.5 turns.

Greetings friends! Today I want to show you a very unusual tool from the “limited edition” of S.T. Dupont, which will appeal to James Bonds fans, as well as fans of guns and bladed weapons.

S.T. Dupont Olympio James Bond Limited Edition 2004 in Black PVD(made in France) 481007

It is difficult to characterize the overall shape of this tool straight away, but it can be said to be typical of the basic current model of S.T. Dupont Olympio: cylindrical, slightly tapering towards the ends. The cap have smoothed end and body have is flat top. Body and cap material is stainless steel with black gun metal finish. The filling system is cartridge-converter by international format, although it is usually meant to use only cartridges, but more on that below. Cap on friction with branded Dupont click at the end.

If you really dream about something, then sooner or later have chance will turn up that will allow you to realize your dream. So I, have always considered this model one of the most attractive in modern pens due to its sunny, warm and maximally positive colors. So, in spite of the past summer but coming golden autumn …

Delta Dolcevita Medium (made in Italy) DV80187

This pen have a classic cylindrical shape with flat tops. The section, cap and end of the body are made of black resin, while the central part of the body is made of pieces of fiery orange resin, which the manufacturer called terra cotta orange color. The filling system is cartridge-converter, of the international format, but the native converter has a thread for more stable connection to the section. Cap on thread, 3-start thread, closing/opening in 3/4 turn.

Thanks Andrew for a detailed review. To me the fountain pen is the nib. it's like putting a Prius engine in a Ferrari. You've completely turned me off of Italian pens... thanks

I completely agree with you, for me the main thing is also the nib. But I'm a sophisticated user who has tried over 300-400 different pens already. I have comfortable, pleasant, loved ones, and there are simply ones that I like externally. They are pens just liked to me and that says it all. I very liked modern Italian pen for it's exterior, but there are also absolutely gorgeous vintage Italian pens that are all great in both the nib and the body.

ps: but there are other writers who, on the contrary, consider a smooth and hard nib to be the height of perfection. Everyone should have a place on earth

Hello! Not so long ago I showed fountain pen for gun lovers, and today is fountain pen for fast driving and sports car lovers. So, go, go, go ....

Porsche Design P3105 Pure Black (made in Germany) 095990481A

This pen is made by Pelikan based fountain pen model Ductus P3100, but with a different color scheme and minor details. The shape of this tool is cylindrical with a slightly tapering end of body and flat tops. The material of the main parts is made of stainless steel with black PVD coating. The filling system is cartridge-converter in the international format. Cap on thread, 2-start thread, opening/closing in 1 with 3/4 turns.

Montblanc (Writers Edition) Alexandre Dumas LE (made in Germany) 1996

This large tool is based on the higher serial model Montblanc Meisterstuck 149, but not in the shape of a cigar(streamline), but in the shape of stright cylinder with flat tops, like the more famous Ernest Hemingway model. The barrel of this model is made of resin marble texture, and the rest of the part from dark brown resin, not black as it might appear in the photos. The camera, unfortunately, cannot show such a large dynamic density. Through the backlight, the resin glows not red as ordinary vlack pen, but a dark amber light. The filling system is piston-filler. Cap on thread, 3-start thread, closing/opening in 1 with 1/4 turns.

Andrew, glad you're back doing your fabulous reviews. Sorry to hear that the pen didn't write consistently. I had a chuckle that they mistook the son's signature for the father's.

Yes, thanks to Yazeh for clarification. I was already prompted and I corrected the post. I remebered that somewhere I had already seen this symbol but could not remember where. What is good about a large community is that someone always knows more and can suggest.

PS: Too busy month. I did not plan to take part in Inktober this year, but it turned out that I am taking part in Inktober2021 and in another Spooktacular challenge
