Hello everybody! I have already reviewed this model in both Chartres Blue and Bourgogne, but since this model has rhodium accents I decided to make a personal post, and not add to the existing ones.

Platinum #3776 Century Black Diamond Transluscent (made in Japan) PNB-15000CR #7

The shape of this pen is standard for Century – cigar-shaped, the material of body is translucent black-ash-colored resin called by company as AS resin. All metal accents are rhodium plated. The filling system is cartridge-converter, of their proprietary Platinum format. Cap on thread, 3-start thread, opening/closing in 1.5 turns.

    Custom ground to UEF nib

AH Andrew, I don't like UEF nibs... but it's worth seeing those delicate lines...what a sketch...

Thanks! It all depends on the style of use. Of course, writing by extra thin nib with less than ideal vision is not comfortable, but for sketches, a thin nib is better because it makes it easier to control shading.

After Christmas holidays, I wanted to summarize how my year 2021 went: 54 new reviews, 20 updates were written, many pens were serviced and repaired, and a lot of new ink tested. Many thanks to all old and new friends, those who supported me, those who commented, those who collaborated, those who inspired me. To all with the coming holidays, wish to everybody the great mood, I love everyone and fountain pens too!

Hello to all! Summing up the results with a collage, I was not going to do more reviews this year, but then I decided to share my “disappointment of the year” and not move this weight into new year. I know many people like this brand as one of the most inexpensive and high quality piston-filling systems, but my experience disappointed me and I’m unlikely to ever be interested in this brand’s pens. Maybe Taiwan is not exactly China, but very very close …

TWSBI Diamond 580ALR Prussian Blue F (made in Taiwan) M7447930

This pen is a 10-faced shape by transparent plastic body with lacquered aluminum accents in blue-green color named by the brand as Prussian Blue. The filling system is piston filler, bushing, rod and actuator are also made of aluminum and coated by Prussian Blue. Cap on thread, 2-lead thread, closing-opening in 1 turn.

Probably the last hi and last review(post) this year! After the previous TWSBI, I would like to end the year on positive note. I have already done several reviews of the Pilot Capless in different colors, and today I want to show the younger model of Capless family.

Pilot Caples Deсimo Burgundy EF (made in Japan) FCT-15SR-R-EF

This model is completely identical to the previously shown Vanishing Point with the only exception that it is slightly smaller (thinner) in details: body, clip, rings; but at the same time with same nib unit inside. Main body made from anodized aluminum(Burgundy in this version), clip cap from stainless steel, clip from rhodium plated special steel, other metal parts and botton from rhodium plated brass. Filling system is cartridge-converter, proprietary Pilot format. There is no cap and nib is pulled out from the body using a button at the end of the pen.

It's a pity that not a single interesting pen came across, but it's nice that the drawings are interesting . Thanks! Happy New Year!

Oh, the pens are interesting, your stunning drawings steal them a bit the show, or maybe I should say the combo of both make it perfect 👍

Hello everyone! First review this year and let it start with a non-ordinary fountain pen. Prior to the 2015 Imporium model (reviewed at the end of last year), the Dialog 3 was the top model of Lamy.

Lamy Dialog 3 Matte Black (made in Germany)

This model is unusual, first of all, because it is a fountain pen with retractable nib, which there are not so many now produced, moreover, this model also has a feature – retractable clip. The shape of this pen is 100% cigar shape without reservations . The body is made of aluminum and anodized to matt black color. Filling system is cartridge (T10)/converter(Z27) of its proprietary Lamy format. There is no cap, the nib is moved by rotating one part of body relative to ther on 180 degrees.

Hey! Today I have another thin pen and another member of Slim design, heiress of the Aurora Hastil traditions, a model from the French fashion house Cartier.

Cartier. Must de Cartier “Trinity” in Lapis Lazuli (made in France) 3205

This pen is a thin cylindrical shape made of brass and covered by lacquer which called “Lapis Lazuli”. (A small note: Lapis Lazuli is a rare mineral of complex composition; usually found in alkaline igneous and carbonate rocks. It has a bright blue and deep blue, sometimes violet-blue or indigo-blue color, has a uniform texture, and in the overwhelming mass of the stone have is a scattering of golden pyrite against a dark blue background.) The metal elements are goldplated with theoreticaly solid gold rings on the cap. The filling system is a cartridge-converter of the international standard. Cap on friction, with a slight click at the end of closure.

Very well done, perfect pairing of Trinity. The detail on the sleeve is remarkable. I have such a hard time with thin pens, and was just using a lovely Cross/Waterman pen that I purchased from a favorite (and now passed) pen vendor, and wishing so much it wasn't so very slim. Thank you, as always, for these reviews and art - they are appreciated even if I don't remark on each and every one.

Andrew, really enjoyed the review and was mesmerized, like Jon, by the sleeve details.
You don't say, much about the nib and how it wrote.
Can you tell us more about that? Is it just a jewel piece or does it write really well?
