Because the nib I installed in this Sailor was originally customized for JoWo collar, theoretically any size #6 nib (JoWo or Bock) should work with this my feed. So I received a request for test this from FP lovers. This morning I decided to check. Because I don’t have standard JoWo nib, I use Esterbrook nib that comes unchanged from JoWo. Everything fell into place very easily. But I was troubled by some points from an aesthetic point of view, so I decided to create a more attractive version 2.0 of my feed, slightly changing the technology.

Custom ebonite feed for #6 JoWo/Bock nib to Sailor KOP section.

    Hello,

Very nice video. To be so talented, and to be so open in sharing,... I don't think you realise just how inspiring you are. Jaw-droppingly beautiful drawings, and the penmanship is exquisite.

When you have finished a drawing, do you store them away, never to be seen again, or do you exhibit them in a gallery?

Thank you very much. I put some drawings in a folder, but some just lie here and there. No, there are no exhibitions, unfortunately, for our time, our hobby(fp`s) is very limited by interest from society.

Because I really like this modern tool both in terms of design and ergonomics, I bought another pen(a some time ago) to one of my main working tools, the Pilot Capless VP w|custom UEF nib. I purchased this pen as used with damaged clip because I liked the texture on the photo and was hoping to fix it. But in addition to the damaged clip, it turned out that there was also a bent nib and lost pressure spring, I think as a result of a fall. The previous owner tried to hide the fall and failed to fix the nib. I restored this nib almost immediately, but the rest waited for its time. Everything is working now, so I’m ready to share it for you.

Pilot Vanishing PointPilot Capless VP Black Carbonesque (made in Japan) 60246

This tool is not a typical design for fountain pens, the so-called cap less (capless) system, i.e. without a cap and resembles an automatic ballpoint pen . The body has a metal base covered by black lacquer with specks and transparent lacquer on top that resembles the texture of carbon, metal elements are rhodium-plated. Inside the body there is an insert-cartridge(nib unit), in which the nib is actually attached on one side and a cartridge / converter by Pilot format on the other side. The extension mechanism is carried out by a button located in the end. The clip attached to body near the nib in the grip place.

I decided to continue my experiment and make another feed from the remains of vintage, by the way, ebonite. At start I wanted to film the process, but then I got so excited that I forgot to take pictures of the middle stages. Unfortunately, I didn’t make the best ink choice(Private Reserve Avocado) for the flex test, so I got a fur(feather) on the wet line with pressure, but overall the test went well.

Hi friends! I’ve been dreaming for a long time to trying to make my own fountain pen from A to Z, but something was always missing. But now we are in current state that we have to hurry, because at any time life can be out by russians and the dream will never come true. So, this summer I made every effort to realize my dream, but for now these are the first steps. Maybe they are not completely sure, but they are my own. And for now, I’m ready to open the curtain a little and hear your opinions.

My First Fountain Pen – ebonite oversized (made in Ukraine) 00001-pre

For start, I chose the most simple, classic and straight cylindrical shape, which is partly inspired by the earlier Parker Duofold and Delta shapes. Because I don’t have any extra clips and equipment for their creation, I decided to make a one-piece cap, because I carry all my pens in covers. So, the cap, section and blind cap are made of vintage ebonite. The section is made for a JoWo #6 nib unit, for which I turned a special matrix from brass. The cap on thread and has a 3-starts thread due to the original thread on the body, step 0.8×3.

    Hello,

I don't understand any of the techy side of building a pen. I know the very bare basics,... nib, lid/cap, barrel/body, ink converter/cartridge, but I do admire those that know and those that work with, other than write/draw, the pens.
I'm happy you have done what you have done, and for the reasoning behind it.
My personal opinion - maybe the pen body should be just black, but your pen, you do as you please.
Finally, I sincerely hope you and your family continue to be safe, Andrew, and that you and your family and friends know that many people you do not know are thinking about you.

Hi friends! Often in Pilot Falcon model reviews, it is mentioned that the basic plastic/resin model cannot install the biggest Con-70 converter, but metal version is too heavy. I remembered this remark and decided to create an ebonite body for mounting Con-70, which will not be heavy.

Pilot Namiki Falcon custom ebonite body – (made in Ukraine)

The shape is simple, classic, cylindrical, straight with slightly tapering body, flat tops and made from vintage dark brown ebonite. The section is original and unchanged, with original proprietary filling system, which is the same in the plastic and metal versions. The cap on thread with one thread, close/open in 3 turns.

Thank you very much. Body on sale, because I need additional accessories for the lathe. I don't know if I can post it here, but cost is $70 + shipping.

1000 thanks. I ordered some JoWo nib units and plastic/ebonite rods for next experimentation. I am hoping to receive they in this month.

Hi! 3-4 years ago I bought this pen to compare it with my 146 and 149, but when I received it I saw a typical disease about what the seller did not inform me. I decided to keep it for myself and fix it when I had the chance. And finally, when I was able to turning on lathe the necessary spare part, I am ready to make a full review.

Montblanc Meisterstück 144 (made in Germany) Generation 2 from 80s

This tool has the same shape known to us as “cigar-like” shape named Streamlined, although compared to its higher models 146 and 149, it is more like to a cigarillo)). The body is made of famous black resin, which traditionally glows red on backlight. Unlike the 146 and 149, this model has a cartridge-converter filling system and cap on friction, which closes soft with little click. The thread to body on the section is a single part, which also made of plastic.

    Hello everybody).
I would like to invite you to view at continuation of my custom body project for the Pilot Namiki Falcon. At the same time, I also experimented with the coating, so I decided to use these experiments into this project. I present to you the updated body:
