I love doing things manually.
I am good at other stuff. Sometimes very good. Most of my life I worked in marketing, management, legal, negotiations. Last 7 years I was advisor and professional negotiator in VC/startup deals and exits.
But I felt this need to do manual stuff. A garden. Some woodworking. Build a car (yes, from scratch), grind nibs, lacquer pens with urushi.
Make pens.
In January this year I decided I want to make pens. In February I ordered lathe and other stuff. It came in March. I started working straight away. And now I make my pens.
It gives me freedom of design. And flexibility. And fun.
Will I stop working with urushi on other penmakers pens? No way. I will keep in touch with Nabi of Wet&Wise and Mr M.P. Kandan of Ranga Pens. I am open for collaborations with other penmakers and brands. Right now* I am finishing a batch of* Lenonardo Officina Italiana for Pen Venture, new project is waiting. So DM or email me if want a special urushi edition
