    @proteus I don't think it's odd at all. I thought my memory was failing me so I went back and read through this thread again. With respect, everyone apart from yourself, was sure it was a repair and said so. It seemed like you were on the fence requesting better images for a while.
    It was always a repaired pen from the original images, and it still is. No mystery at all. Nothing odd about it.

    Perhaps these are better words.

    Which goes against all that has been said.


    I believe that this cap in the last images shown has not been unrestored and just partially cracked.
