Customs have finally released the shipment. Now, the real challenge is to find an overland Northwest Passage...

MI #34 is a gorgeous shade of orange. I like it so much, I will have to buy a bottle once I know what it is! MI # 35 is a rather dark green/blue ink, jury is still out on this one for me though...
    Thanks for doing this James!

Are we delaying posting our writing images on here until BP has received his samples?

That is the common practice. Otherwise the delayed person will feel left out

Don't worry, it's on it's way via Chilkoot Pass.

    Brilliant, Fred!!

The samples are now in my city, although the journey from depot to front door may be the longest segment. Fingers crossed they arrive before the weekend.

You shouldn't. Even when you have ink in hand, comments will trickle in and there'll be no reveal by the ink-master until everyone shares their views.

    Ok, I feel better now

Maybe I can give a review of how the ink behaves once it goes through the freeze-thaw cycle.

This was fun. Thanks, JJ! 👍🏻

In the chroma, I see all sorts of colors, red and yellows in 34, blues, blacks, turquoise, even green and purple in 35.

Rhodia paper. The Honey Burst was in a Nemosine Singularity with a Broad nib; the Lamy Copper Orange in a Pilot Parallel. The blue comparisons were glass pen dipped.

Thanks to a pen pal letter, I have my suspicions about one of the inks. I will keep my trap shut for now.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

    Blasphemy (or, pushing the envelope):

    IMG_3945.jpeg

Uh oh. While MI34 nicely coats the back of the dip pen nib, MI35 beads up on the back of my dip pen nib and I discovered that any excess of it on a sheet of Rhodia speedily softens the paper to such an extent that hunks of cellulose separate and cling to the dip pen tines. MI34 is innocent of such misbehavior.

Very early impressions - and I'm sorry that my photos are so bad. Will try a scan tomorrow.

MI34 feels like a Sailor ink. Would guess Kin-Mokusei?

MI35 doesn't feel as awfully dry to me as some early guesses have said. The colour is definitely leaning more green that R&K Verdigris and is more at the Sailor Miruai end of the spectrum, but probably not dark enough.

    More to come...

Sorry guys, I had a little accident with my middle finger and hardly can write or draw the next days, so my inputs will be delayed.

I made a little writing sample before the accident which I will post soon.
