    Default A high-flying rollstop

Today I have something special to showcase. Let's roll...

This pen, branded Steiner with a factory engraving on the barrel that says "Steiner None Finer" (no, I am not kidding). Of course, true to the Redeem Pens tradition, an obscure old brand. The Warranted 14K nib came with the pen, it's flexible, high-quality one.

This pen came to me without any clip, and unfortunately, the clip was the type that relies on rivets, not secured by an inner cap. So without the original tooling, even if I can source a clip that would look good, I won't be able to install it.

What then? Luckily, I love cool looking rollstops. I selected a nice airplane ornament, which contrast nicely with the deep red woodgrain ebonite material. But not just any airplane, it's inspired by the Gee Bee racing plane (just look it up and prepare to be amazed). I won't belabor on how I attached the rollstop onto the cap, just trust me, that rollstop looks even more awesome in person, the pen won't roll off your table, and that little airplane won't roll off the cap, ever.

So to tie it all in, a sketch inspired by the airplane itself. This time, I ended up using quite a bit of water, the paper bucked a bit but it's fine after the wash dried.
