Default Waterman's Red Ripple. Canadian vs USA

There are various versions and sizes of this pen. 52, 55 etc
    Different level of finishes.
What is the real difference between the two manufacturing countries for this pen?
Is one manufacturing place of origin better than the other?
Why have they got prices that vary so much ? I've seen a Canadian 52 without imprint on the barrell that costs more than a 55 US one that has all the correct 'attributes'. Why?
I've been looking for one for decades but could never afford it, now I can and am trying to understand
    Thank you

I've experienced the same lack of logical explanation for these pens' selling prices over the years, notwithstanding condition or USA/CA origin. I suspect the ebb and flow to their prices is based on the clamor on the internet at any one time. If you are fortunate to spot a nice 52 at a bargain price, it's hard to go wrong.

@fredrydr so either one is fine as long as it is in good condition s and 'affordable' price :-)

Yes. The only issue might be a purist collector will frown on a USA barrel with CA nib and vice versa.
