Thank you for taking the time to do this ink review.

My TM Milky Ocean is not that dry, but that is likely because I purchased it to be moderately wet. But it is a lovely ink and a beautiful shading ink.

I have been trying to get a full bottle of this ink for almost 6 months now.
    It's never in stock.
The sample that I received from a friend is all I have to go off of.

If you continue to struggle to get it, the nice friend might have a spare bottle she'd be prepared to share...

    Thank you so much!
But I really would like the communities help acquiring a few bottles. I signed up for notifications on a few websites, but still...nothing.
I know that "Milky Ocean" will work for me...but If I still can't find it this month, I will try some of the Penbbs Blue inks on Vanness.
Penbbs has been pretty consistent with quality chromoshading inks so far. =p

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is chromo-shading? I tried searching internet omniscience but got sidetracked too often by the shiny objects and never got a good answer.

You won't find an answer to that on the internet as it is a term coined by "Inky Rocks" on youtube (originally regarding the effect seen in the ink "Sailor Manyo Haha") and used mostly by she and I to describe the multi-color shading effect of inks such as this and others.

Does anyone know if "Sailor Manyo Nadeshiko" is a close alternative to "Milky Ocean"?
I cannot find a youtube review of the ink anywhere and all of the reviews I have found show a more "lavender leaning single-dye ink" rather than a "Blue with lavender/pink chromo-shading" ink...

The two are very close - the only real difference is that Nadeshiko is about twice the price of Milky Ocean! In terms of colour, they're almost indistinguishable from one another. LMK if you'd like me to take a quick shot of my swatches for you - though of course these are never easy to capture.

Oh, thank you! I have seen Nadeshiko and Milky Ocean compared in the following video at 02:12 (https://youtu.be/CqOeO8btz_M?t=132 )by Mike Matteson and they are indeed almost twins.
I would have gotten "Manyo HAHA" but it is way too light in the sample I have...barely visible on the paper even with a flex pen.
Well, if Penboutique has "Nadeshiko" in stock on Friday, I will drive up and buy a bottle.
I cannot say I have that availability/opportunity with "Milky Ocean" and should they continue to be formulated from "unobtanium", I will be satisfied paying double for the "Nadeshiko".
I will just chalk the "Milky Ocean" up to another fountain pen trend that I missed.

I put myself on the waiting list at Shigure Inks for several Troublemaker Inks and kind of forgot about it, but lo and behold, I got an email from them saying that they had Abalone and Milky Ocean and I was next on the list! So I just received them and am looking forward to trying them out in a bit. So those wait lists work, I guess, if you're patient.

So, here's a quick scan (too dark right now for natural light) and I think you should be able to see the pink hints in there pretty clearly. Hope it helps!

I, too, am on the notification listings with every participating distribution store on the "Troublemaker Inks" website (about 7) for 3 months now.
I've received no notifications thus far and Mizgeorge has been so wonderfully kind as to send me a sample of the ink for my ink reviews and usage.
But I think I'll get the Nadeshiko for now and if/when the "MO" becomes available, I'll buy a bottle just because.

    You're the best!
Thank you, that definitely nails it...I'm picking up Nadeshiko this week.

Heck, I may drive up there today after lunch...especially if I get this AD server set up and running correctly.
