Default my daily use dip pens repurposed from fps

I don't like using normal-sized dip pens even though I have many pretty ones. I prefer the size and girth of fountain pens so I've repurposed these early 20th century pen bodies to use as dip pens.

Yes, they would have been back in their day and if they weren't being used as dip pens. Only two of them have sections, and none of them have their caps. I have one more pen from this era, (not in the picture), that I actually use as an eyedropper-filled fountain pen. That one doesn't have its original cap either but I found something that works.

Lovely! I have a number of early Mabie Todds and Watermans with amazing nibs that I use in exactly the same way, but they're not nearly as pretty as these!

What do you mean when you say that only two of them have sections? It appears to the untutored eye, such as mine, that all four pens have sections, meaning by "section" a sort of black plastic cylindrical part in which the nib is inserted.

Yes, by "section" I mean the smaller cylinder that fits into the "barrel" that normally holds the feed and nib. They all have barrels but the two shorter ones do not have sections.

What's your strategy to hold the nibs in place?

In one of them my dip nib just fits, the other three have ferrules in them.
