Hello, all, from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
What a pleasure to see so many people so into fountain pens. I'm a writer and a translator, do a bit of teaching, and help run a literary center. I've been lurking here for a bit, and much appreciate the generosity of spirit in terms of sharing information and pictures.
I love vintage pens (my oldest are a Duofold Sr and a Ikaruga Safety Fountain Pen, both from the 1920s), and have a weird thing for unusual brands known for other things I also happen to like (an Elgin, an Underwood). I love new pens too, though--I've currently got ink in a Visconti Van Gogh, an Italix Parson's Essential, and a Franklin-Christoph Model 31 Omnis in antique glass.
I'm hoping to make the leap to a new urushi pen soon, and am currently reading up--many thanks for all the threads here that have helped get me started!
