Default Pilot Varsity / V-Pen - Dauerfeder nibs

    Hello one and all,

    Just a quick question:

I've just noticed that my Pilot V-Pens (purchased here in the UK) all have 'Dauerfeder'/'Wingflow' style nibs, where the tines are each twisted 90 degrees to make the tipping point, or to be more precise, the writing point. All the images I can find on the internet that are clear enough show tipping material. But these all show the silver version; I've got the plain white ones.

Has anybody else noticed this? Or have I fallen foul of the "save a quid on a four pack from the ebay wholesaler and receive Chinese-made knock-offs instead" routine?

I remember emailing Pilot UK at the time about the different barrel colours, and they emailed back to say there is no difference. I might have since found out (on the web, so pinch of salt) that one was either washable or erasable ink, the other possibly only erasable. But that's by-the-by, I wasn't greatly fussed about the permanence of the ink when buying them.

    Regards
    HH

my one v-pen looks to have a proper ball of tipping on the end.
