Thanks Ivan - I'm wary of Chinese pens (I've had two Baoers, and a Jinhao that were stinkers, although my Hero 616s, at about £1 each, were excellent, go figure) but those are very handsome looking pens indeed.

blackangus: I like the Ple Ple roll a lot - I nearly ordered one from Jetpens, but worried a little that bouncing it around in my bike bag would wreck the finish.

I think Chinese pens make good practice repair/nib modification and adjustment pens.

Those are beautiful Chinese pens. I agree with their being great for practice. I bought several dirt cheap Chinese pens, practiced on them, and gave them away to non-fountain pen users. I have a few Chinese pens and I think, so far, I've been lucky in that I haven't gotten a major dud.

Since I work from home often I don't do that much carrying, but this is what is on my desk inked and ready:
    • Pelikan M800 green striated M/Sheaffer Black
    • Omas MoMA M/Schacht&Westerich Hanseatisch Blau (a dark blue that will stay blue and not turn blue-black)
    • Omas MoMA mechanical pencil
    • Pelikan M640 Eternal Ice M/Pelikan Royal Blue
    • Pelikan M600 Red striated B/Akkerman Rood Haags pluche (a rather warm red)
    • Pelikan M205 Duo yellow demonstrator BB/Private Reserve Arabian Rose
    • Conway Stewart Wellington Brown flaked M/CS Brown
    • Pelikan M640 Polar Lights M/PR Avacado
    • Sheaffer Targa mechanical pencil in the sling of my calendar book
    • Graf von Faber-Castell Pernambuco ballpoint for the rare desastrous occasion that only a ballpoint pen will do (but at least it is stylish)

Now I see the list I really should give some of these Pelikans a rest. Which again brings on the sweet agony of choice...

    Cheers,
    Peter

My EDC is all of my pens, except the desk sets. For some reason, I need to have all of them with me, just in case I decide I want to switch things up - I'm also trying to be strict about rotating my pens so they all get used.

That means I'm usually toting around 20-24 pens. Right now 11 of my pens are off being repaired, so I'm reduced to only:

    INKED
    • Green Hero 329 (Aurora Black)
    • Blue 1989 Pelikan Pelikano (Noodler's Purple Heart)
    • Green celluloid Wahl Oxford (X-Feather)
    • Brown Mentmore Osmi (#41 Brown)
    • Sailor ink-bar "disposable"

UNINKED, AWAITING THEIR TURN IN THE ROTATION
    • Green Wearever
    • Silver Esterbrook J, 2668 nib
    • Black Pilot 78G, satin-finished
    • Green Noodler's Aerometric
    • 2 chrome Cross Century IIs
    • Marbled blue Reynolds
    • Root beer Esterbrook J with a 9128 nib
    • Purple Reynolds
    • Parker '45 that was my father's
    • Blue Lamy Safari that was my father's
    • Burgundy Parker '51 that was my father's or grandfather's, but has a big crack in the barrel and I'm putting off sending it away for a barrel replacement because I'm lazy

My EDC pens for today. The Zebra V-301 surprised me. It had been sitting for at least a month and it started right away, no hesitations.

    pens 2012-03-28.jpg

Not very unusual. Left to right:

    * Grey Pilot Decimo, M nib, with Pilot Blue
    * "Cyan" TWSBI 530, F nib, with Waterman Blue Black. This pen is not really cyan.
    * Two Airmail 69L eyedroppers, F nibs, one with Noodler's Empire Red, one with Noodler's Heart Of Darkness
    * Pelikan Duo highlighter, BB nib, with Pelikan highlighter ink
    * Pink Safari M with J Herbin Violette Pensée (I think)

...on top of my Midori Traveler's Journal, with the extra-thin paper.

It is theoretically supposed to be "cyan". It clearly isn't, it's much more green as you say. Ho hum.

Just got tapatalk..I'm hoping it's easier to post.

The bag is just a $5 pen bag that I got at the grocery store. I added a piece of card stock to fit so I could clip all my pens in the upright position.

The wood ballpoint with the cap off happens to be a cigarette lighter as well, so it travels with me.

Lovely collection. First picture, far right - sexiest hour glass pen I have seen and I love the color. What is it?

It's a kit pen I got from Penn State Industries. It has a steele Shmidtt medium nib. Iridium point Germany. Not the favorite for most ( that I hear) but it works great. Medium wet line, cartridge converter. The barrel and cap are Box Elder Burlwood dyed green. It really is one of my favorites ! Of coarse the ink is PR Avocado.
