Sailor 1911 Hakone Yosegi-zaiku "Parquet Wood", 14k Fine
I'm offering for sale this very special and unique Sailor special edition from ~2012. The pen body is wood, made using a traditional woodworking technique called Yosegi-zaiku from Edo-period Hakone. The technique creates a mosaic or parquet-like effect, and is traditionally used in puzzle boxes. To this effect, Sailor included an ink cartridge box done in the same style, which is one of the coolest things I've seen from Sailor. I'm not aware of any other edition for which they've included this accessory.
The wood itself has a lovely matte finish and tactile feel. The pen body itself is ever so slightly longer than the standard 1911, maybe 1-2mm. This pen has only been inked once, then thoroughly and carefully cleaned, and stored back in the box.
The pen has been inked once, used only at the desk, cleaned carefully and thoroughly, and returned to the box. The original box includes all papers, sealed ink carts, and a brand new converter.
Update: SOLD. Asking $425 OBO for this unique and rare example, which includes insured shipping.
Currently only offered to US buyers, PayPal Goods & Services will be used.
