    Default Bright Blue....

What ink is the closest in color to Baystate Blue? A bright blue that is relatively fast drying, but without the issues that seem to come with Baystate.
    Thanks!

    Maybe this link would help...
I'Ve had BSB for a year in a cheap pen. It works fine. But it's not the best behaved Noodler
The thing with Baystate is that you need to have a dedicated pen for it.
I believe Herbin's Éclat de Sapphire can be good alternative....
I would recommend you get several samples of vibrant blues and even one of Baystate, you never know

    Try InkSwatch.com - Match Noodler's Baystate Blue

I would have said Visconti Blue - and InkSwatch.com agrees!

Iroshizuku Asa-gao has the same purple tint, but is obviously not as eye-searing.

You could try Lamy blue. Looks great in a broad nib with a purplish cast. Can look faded in a fine nib, so your mileage may vary.

J.Herbin Eclat de Safir might work but I think it leans more purple and is less saturated than Noodler's BB. Brian Goulet mentions that ink in his video Q&A slice about Noodler's BB.

Most of the inks on the FPN comparison look fairly similar to each other then Noodler's BB is a significantly brighter example alone at the bottom of the image. It has more red in it than the other inks.

Inks that I have that lean more red are PR Electric DC Blue, Visconti Blue and Diamine Sargasso Sea. Maybe Diamine Cornflower. I have a few blues (understatement of the year LOL) so when I have a moment I'll get my NBB out and compare it with some of my newer ones.

I found this previous thread where I posted some blue ink swabs but I have more now so it might need updating

Kon-Peki is a popular bright blue ink from Pilot's Iroshizuku line. It offers a similar intensity to Baystate Blue but is generally well-behaved and fast drying.
