Dear Pelikan Fine Writing,
I'm a Pelikan fan and collector from Australia. At the heart of my collection are Pelikan Toledos. I have a set of the M700 and all three (black, red, yellow) M710 special editions, & each pen inscribed with the unique serial number. My question is: How do I decode the serial number to tell the date of the production?
I know the first digit 7 or 9 means M700/M900, and the last two letters are the craftsman's initials. But I'd like to know the date.
