Default Where to Purchase Restoration Tools

Is there any one best place to purchase restoration tools/supplies (or places to avoid)?

    Pentooling.com

Dale will be at the SF pen show in a few weeks.

    Try’em and buy’em.

+1 Dale Beebe makes it so convenient with his one stop shop. (By the way, how many syllables in "Beebe"?)

I think I've purchased something from Dale every time I've visited the US.

He does but some are expensive and he only accepts cheques or adds on a percentage if you want to use PayPal.

Expensive is a comparative term, Chrissy. These are hand-made tools of impeccable quality. I have several of his tools for pen cap and nib work and they are by far better than anything else I have tried. They're worth the money. Many sellers add on a percentage to cover PayPal costs. Why should he accept a lower payment because you wish to use PayPal? Is writing a cheque so onerous?

Sadly I'm afraid it is for me. I wouldn't buy anything online nowadays that requires payment by cheque. I would rather not have it than take the risk.

I do not charge extra for PayPal but I will give a discount for cash. I can usually tell if a check is good before it gets written.

If you are going to repair pens, you are likely to be able to make some yourself. I have a couple of articles on my website with instructions on making your own basic repair tools. Take a look at Cheap Tools part 1 and Cheap Tools Part 2.
