Well, my friend, I wish you the very best. My comments were certainly not meant sharply, and you have taken them in the manner I sent. I'll only offer input when it seems valid and I hope you eventually find the pen that suits you best. I can't, won't, and shouldn't alter your underlying personal characteristics, so my biggest hope is simply that, after you've done all this ruminating, you arrive at a resolution that brings you happiness and contentment.
Thanks Jon. I wasn't offended in the very least, and I understand exactly where you were coming from. And your invoking of master Yoda gave me quite a chuckle, so thanks for that. Of course, you know how it is with us pen hobbyists. If the next pen doesn't bring me happiness and contentment, there is always the one after that, or the one after that, or the one...

Purple isn't mandatory. I'm just looking for something special that moves me. I've looked at several of the FC pens. I saw several I like, but nothing has jumped out at me, yet. I'll keep looking.

You can’t go wrong with any of Franklin-Christoph’s pens, especially if Audrey adjusts your nib. I have used a Maya Blue 20 for quite awhile, and enjoy it for being light weight and dependable. The capping system is unique in being a friction cap that prevents the nib from drying out. I chose Maya Blue because I can make out the ink level in the converter. You can see mine needs a good cleaning after a load of Diamine Sargasso Sea.

    I hope this helps.

I almost forgot, the reason I like this pen for quick, everyday, work is that there are no threads or step on the section to barrel. The only other pen that does this is the Graf von Faber Castell Intuition, which is also incredibly comfortable to use, but heavier and tends to dry out fairly quickly if left unused for a period of time.

That's a beautiful pen. Thanks! I've got time, and will be looking more closely at FC.

You’re welcome. Indeed, selection of a special pen should never be a hasty decision. A pen is a tool, but it also has the power to inspire and draw out the best in us.
