Default Urushi Pen by Bokumondoh Studios

Anyone who has seen the gorgeous custom work done by Hiroko Makino of Bokumondoh Studios knows just how special her talent with custom urushi work is. Those familiar with the process to get one made know that you must first get on her waiting list (which is currently one year!!!), then send your pen to Japan, wait while the work is done, wait again while the pen is shipped back from Japan, etc. Little wonder that Bokumondoh pens are rarely seen for sale in the aftermarket. If you have ever wanted one of her beauties but don't want to wait more than a year, here is your chance.

This Bokumondoh beauty is a gorgeous red/brown/burgundy tamenuri type finish that also has tiny sparkly gold flecks throughout, almost like a diamondcast look but of course a much more elaborate and expensive process. I do not remember the maker of the base pen on which Hiroko performed her magic, but it was a model made by one of the many US artisan pen makers who have been turning out some great product.

This is a sizable pen, as can be seen in the last two pictures with it placed alongside a Pelikan 800. The pen accepts Jowo #6 nibs. It is currently equipped with a Jowo two tone steel 1.1 nib, but I have other nibs we can discuss if you so choose. The pen does not have its original box, but I can supply it in a Sailor or PLatinum box if the buyer so desires. Note that the pen is not a Sailor or Platinum product, and the Pelikan in the pictures is not included in the sale.

    $525 includes shipping within US.

Shipment outside US may be available at cost. Please inquire.

Note: the Pelikan IS NOT included in the sale
