Laban Ancient Egypt Fountain Pen in Box with Ink-bottle
Here I have for sale a very interesting fountain pen by a respectable Taiwanese pen maker Laban, The Ancient Egypt.
It’s a big cartridge/converter filler pen with a stainless steel Laban nib in M which is more on the F side in my opinion.
The pen is oversize and heavy, mostly because of the cap which is sterling silver (925) all covered with bas-relief figures of Egyptian deities and floral ornaments.
The cap lip has a shallow and very stylishly lettered logo engraving of a Russian stationary retailer Silwerhof that blends seamlessly into the ornamentation. The barrel is made of briar, on a metal body I take it as both the end cap and the nib section are made of black-colored metal.
The pen comes in a nice wooden presentation box that has a reversible shelf insert fitting for two writing instruments on one side and one on another. There is also a glass ink-bottle included, housed in one more insert. Both inserts can be taken out opening a black-lacquered inside of the box.
All in all it’s nice little item for your desk or a fine gift to a pen collector.
Asking $150 plus shipping.
