That is a great story, thanks for posting.
I can imagine that this will prompt a number of other record attempts by dogs, I cannot imagine trying to train a cat to do the same feat, perhaps a whippet will be good, fast and light.
I take a rottweiler for a country walk, he would be hopeless, all his weight is high up and he cannot run and corner for toffee.
