Am I a Pelikan expert? Not compared to what was learned by those who have become experts in the last decade. There are many who studied more exactly when a pen or it's nib was made than I. Good for them. I do learn ... when needed, when a nib or pen of mine were made.
Sometimes it's just looking at pretty pictures, of what I'll never have.
I do have a few Pelikans and other semi&maxi-semi-flex pens. Perhaps more than my distractors. A couple of whom I don't wish to know; to find out how much experience with semi-flex pens they actually have. ... if any.
I have learned that a fool and his money is encouraged by some of the members of this com. Good. Caveat emptor; so be it.
Semi-flex 140's had two, got one now in I got the fella that lives upstairs a full set of fountain pens. He had a nail, now has a regular flex, a semi-flex and a maxi-semi-flex.
My post-war to 54 100n is a superflex nib; in the first stage, what I call Easy Full Flex. (Second stage is Wet Noodle...third stage is Weak Kneed Wet Noodle...all of which I have.)
I do have a 400 D nib, a nail's nail.
Semi-flex, an Ibis, three 400's, one a tortoise.
Maxi-semi-flex, a 500 and a 400nn.
I have a number of semi and maxi-semi-flex '50-60's era, MB's Geha's, Osmia's and some lesser names like a Mercedes and a few others.
35 Semi-flex, 15 maxi-semi-flex of various brands.
'82-97 Pelikans. I have three 200's; two W.Germany ones....and one Germany (another '90's Germany one was given to the guy upstairs as an upgrade of the 1745 I gave him). W.Germany 600 & 800, a Germany 400, a '93 Hunter Toledo, a 381 and two Celebries.
Modern post '97; a 605, 1005, a 215 and a hand full of 200's...4-5?
I may have missed a few, in I don't run a spread sheet on my Pelikan or any of my pens.
I don't care for the stiffer (semi-nail 400/600; nail 800.) fat and blobby double ball modern post '97 Pelikan gold nibs.
Fair question.
1) You have no right to bully & bad mouth BoBo Olson as you did.....forget about the fact that his post was in another's sales post.....your comments were mean spirited and inappropriate.
2) Your earlier "Yawn" response to one of his posts would seem to indicate that his somewhat repetitive, rambling post(s) were boring to you. First, if you don't like or want to read them then don't. Second, look in the mirror my friend, your posts for the most part are as rambling & boring as are his, if not more. At first I would read them but over time my approach has been to simply ignore them.
Thank you for the opportunity to clarify this for you. I hope you find my comments to be objective and descriptive. I have no intention of trying to pick a fight with you.
So you fault me for addressing Bobo's ramblings, but then you turn around and do the same with Mizgeorge? Nice going.
Not sale related, but topic related, maybe some comparision pictures are helpful (for some).
These are pictures from some of my own pens and what kind of variation you can expect from a "typical" 50s Pelikan.

@ptero so the OF is like Liam's original pen...by OF you mean oblique flex?
OF = Oblique Fine
This is the factory Nib, and yes I would categorize this as Italic Flex. The nib cuts just like the other Italic nibs though at an angle. This pen has been in use for 50 years or more and shows no signs of slowing down. I dont abuse my pens and only a soft touch is necessary to create a thick beautiful line. No the Nib is not sprung, what makes you think that?
The conversation is super awesome, I wish someone buy it and take it home though hahahahaha
Thanks, I will start over Thanks anyways guys.
