As I read this, I am feeling very lucky, although sad for a number of you having trouble.

I haven't noticed any change in my mail service - in a small town in suburban Columbus, OH. I know many of the local USPS people personally (a benefit of small town living) and they all try to do a really good job here.

But in general, almost any monopoly or almost-monopoly service usually manages to provide declining levels of service over time.

Delivery is still OK in my neighborhood in NYC. We've lived in the same apartment for seventeen years, and the same woman delivers our mail. Of course, it looks like the Dejoy plan is to dump unprofitable service, meaning delivery to places with fewer people. And, of course, the US Post Office was created to deliver mail everywhere, regardless of whether any particular post office or route made money.

Sounds like grounds for a law suit, for violating the USPS charter.

The 1950s. I'ts a safe bet that almost everyone of those 'posites' was wearing a military uniform during the second half of the 1940s. Bless them.

    Happy Christmas everyone.

Eh? That was taken last week on the steps of the local post office after a job fair.

Wow!! We missed all the part of golden era! The technology has done lot of changes to that time segment and now we are all depending on the "cloud services "
I really missed sending and receiving mails now a days...

We have a rural contract carrier, with delivery on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Some of our mail has been lost (bills). We've also had letters arrive in our box which were addressed to someone else (a power bill mailed from Cheyenne, WY to South Dakota). I've also had a Christmas parcel returned twice for weird infractions.

It wasn't this bad before the Trumpist bugger took over, and screwed it up on purpose.
