    Default Conid Pen Not Sealing

Has anyone had issues with their Conid Bulkfiller Regular still allowing ink to flow from the large ink chamber into the smaller ink chamber, even when the shutoff valve has been closed. I tried placing the pen upright with the valve open to allow ink to flow into the large reservoir, but after I tighten the knob to close the seal, and flip the pen over it still seems that ink is flowing into the smaller chamber.

Is the rubber seal damaged, or perishing? I'd check that first. And, no, my mini (currently in rotation), seals effectively.

Possibly the seal on the little knob at the end of the piston rod itself if that's what may be causing the issue.

What size O ring is needed to replace the seal on the Piston knob? I see the set of three but all those seem to be made to fit in other places on the pen.

In the O-ring selection that ships with the pen, you want the smallest, fattest ring (3x15).

It looks like the smallest in my set is 5x1.2 Would that still apply for my pen?

I don't know. My Minimalistica came with the Regular o-ring kit, as they use the same hardware internally. Disassemble the pen, inspect the o-ring with a loupe and make sure it is a) sound, and b) properly seated. If not, experiment with the o-rings that you do have. If none fit, your should be able to source a replacement with relative ease.

This all assumes, of course, that the o-ring is the cause of the faulty seal. It seems the most likely candidate, but other things to consider would be a bent plunger rod, damage to the plunger head, a crack in the polycarbonate well around the top chamber (OK: that last one is probably a stretch, but your get the idea).

And if you need spare o-rings, Kirk Speer over at Penrealm carries them.
