    Default Want a laugh

The Parker 5th pen is currently 3x or more of the fountain pen in the same model and color way

    I guess it’s really dead

I haven't read of it in some time. With macular degeneration I am mostly using fiber tip refills in Cross Select Tip and Montblanc rollerball pens. Its hard for me to read most fountain pen and ballpoint writing. Maybe I could have used a 5th now.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried broad, double broad or triple broad nibs?

Medium works, but I have only a couple of them, most being extra fine and fine.

Still, sorry to hear of the demise of the 5th. It was interesting. I would suppose there are some available, new or used. When something is no longer current interest seems to wane.

If you are looking for something that will allow you to enjoy at least some of the Fountain pen inks

I’ve been losing eyesight since my twenties. I’ve gone from broad to double and triple broad. I genuinely enjoy the broader nibs. I’m just thankful i can still see well enough to read and write most of the time.

I sometimes write large to explore nibs or inks

I sometimes feel like I grade schooler but sometimes the inks need large letters

Also I noticed fancy scripts are easier to write larger

Since I retired I have used fountain pens very little. No need to write. I can still enjoy working on them. Sac pens require periodic resac and some pens are interesting to explore. I do replace some latex sacs with PVC sacs when I feel the urge. Too bad there aren't PVC Vacumatic diaphragms.
