Default Soennecken Schulfuller S4 nib damage?

    Hello,

I bought my first vintage piston filler. However, it doesn't write very well. Sometimes the nib makes a tick tick sound, sometimes a twang, and depending the angel it can be quite scratchy.
The pen writes for three lines and then it stops. No ink flow.
    Ink is Parker Quink blue.

After some inspection, it seems that the nib as been dinged. Is it reparable or shall I send it back to the seller?

Any help or insights would be appreciated:

The nib needs work and it also needs to be set to the feed.

Open a discussion with the seller, they may be capable of fixing the problem or are agreeable to funding the repair.

You need to ask yourself if you would still want the pen after it has been repaired,if the answer is no then you will have refined your options for discussion with the seller.

I must admit that I get a bit cheesed off with sellers who offer defective pens, they must have known or ought to have known of the problems with the nib and feed and, presumably, did not tell you prior to the sale.

Thanks Fermata. The excuse was that, that buyers want new cork. So the "seller" dips the nib and feed into ink and writes a sample text with it. But never tests the pen.
As for the pen if repaired, if want it or not?
    No.
It has left a bitter taste. Pity because all of my vintage pens come from the same seller...

The best of luck, Yazeh, you have all the ammunition to ensure a speedy resolution. I would ensure that the pen is returned via insured and signed for delivery, ideally at the sellers expense.

The seller agreed to send me an extra nib/feed. I'm ok with that.
Ironically the pen has been writing much better and no more hard stops...

I'm so pleased Yazeh. These are fabulous little pens, and are an absolute joy to use when they're working properly. Hope the replacement nib is up to scratch for you
