Withdrawn. The seller asked for cashapp payment while I offered to pay the PayPal fees. His reason was the PayPal withholds the payment for too long. I am not familiar with cashpay app.

Yes on certain payments I guess they hold payments I’m not very familiar with paypal but as I showed you I actually have an payment held for a pen I just recently sold so yes pen is still available just as much as you’re not familiar with cashapp is the same way I’m not to familiar with paypal sorry

Unfortunately, there are almost NO protections for the Buyer if the transaction has a problem using Cash App. That is why this Pen forum ( and Pentrace ) recommends Paypal Goods & Service payments, to protect both Buyer AND Seller. Several of our members here have been scammed in the past using Cash App, Paypal Friends and Family, and direct money transfers.

The seller reached out soon after my previous post on the thread, saying that he is willing to accept PayPal for payment.

We agreed a US address to send the pen to, before making the payment , yet the seller shipped it directly to me in India. Lots of missing packages and theft when packages are sent from US to India, as you would know from the forum history. So Shipping within US is generally safer and quicker.
Pen was shipped without tracking, so I asked him to recall it and reship it as agreed previously within US. 2+ weeks on and I am still waiting for the package to be sent to the US address.

Any suggestions on what to do apart from a PayPal claim?

On another note, why not use DHL? I always use that for all my sales. Delivered in 4 days to UK.

Should have declined then. I specifically said I will only buy if shipping is within US. Anyone, if they get an item shipped to a destination where chances of it being delivered are 50%, would be a fool. Speaking from experience here.
Anyway, as far as protection goes, does shipping without tracking help in getting that?

As I understand it, if you file a claim, the burden is on the seller to prove that it was actually delivered. Not shipped, but delivered. Without tracking, that will be impossible so I doubt it would be a difficult claim.

Yes, that's true. It's a valid case and PayPal will refund.
I don't understand why folks ask for fnf either, that doesn't give any protection to the buyer.

Most people do not like to pay a fee if they can avoid it, however paying no fee means, as noted, there is no protection against fraud.

Like I said, would prefer any other method. I don’t want to abuse the protection provided to me by PayPal, so have given him until the end of this week to resolve this. A total of 3.5 weeks. Once that is over, will file a claim.

The buyer was asking for 650$. I offered to paid 3% fees without being asked to, total of $670. I have sold pens on this forum, and elsewhere so I know how much the fees hurt. Still all this.
