Default Help with DIY Notebook Binding

    Hello,
So as we all know, Tomoe River is no more. So I bought a good amount of their A4 loose leaf 68g paper and I'd like to create my own notebooks out of it. Does anyone on here have experience with this?
I have my mind pretty set on glue binding and I'd like to replicate the Midori MD notebook as much as possible. I've been inspecting the MD notebooks lately to get some ideas on how to do it, and it looks like they fold 4 sheets of A4 paper in half and thread them together to make a small A5 little "booklet". Then I'd guess they glue the spine of all these booklets together and apply some kind of woven material over the spine.

Folding and threading a bunch of pieces of paper together seems time consuming, but I'd be willing to do it if I felt the end result would come out similar to the MD notebook. What I dont want is to end up with a bunch of folded pieces of paper all strung together.

The booklets are called signatures. I've only ever created signatures (of art paper) for travel journalling, but the book binding options are easy to research. Here is one such article: https://www.wikihow.com/Bind-a-Book

I do a pamphlet binding in the traveler size, about 11x21 cm. Fits perfect in the coat pocket. The procedure is about the same as this:

So here’s the final product. I used Tomoe River 72 gram A4 paper to make it. The cover and back are made from some card stock that I glued a thin layer of cheese cloth over for texture. It came out much better than I expected.
