The cap looks like a 45 cap but as you say the photo is too dak to see for sure. Can you post a picture of the nib.
Paul
Hard to tell but the barrel end looks rounded which is "un 45 " like.

Hugh

Not got mine in front of me to check but that nib section, although looks 45 ish is I think different in its design to the one on mine.
I will check when I get home, if someone else has not corrected me by then.
Paul
Thanks I like the way this writes but its a bit scratchey

I'm with Paul- the cap looks ok (too dark too know for sure) but, like hugh, the barrel looks off. Is it rounded or flat? Flat is the design of a 45. The section/nib area looks correct to me- although i have not seen that green color- but I haven't looked into 45s too much. Here are some pictures of mine I took real quickly.
Its flat I think it's real I saw same one online and it has parker squeeze fill in it

That is a very odd colour for the section though, unless the barrel has come out unusually dark in the first photo.
Not saying its not real though.
Paul
Paul I saw that too- I just assumed maybe the section and barrel were different colors or the flash made it look like that.
Its same color it is just the lighting

It looks real enough - if a little scruffy round the nib. Of course as the P45 has been out of production for so long it could easily be copied or maybe Parker sold the tooling to someone in a far off land. There are suspicions about some of the Frontiers that are circulating so maybe the P45 is in this bunch too.
The P45 is available "NOS" for around £20 at the moment through at least one Amazon Marketplace seller.
I had Parker 45s through my late school and early University life way back in the late 60s/early 70s so I'm afraid the model holds no magic for me. I still have a couple in the drawer debris somewhere.
Will be interesting if this story ever unfolds.

It looks real enough to me. It has the appearance of being used really hard, and put away... dirty. Does it state where it was produced? US, UK, Canada and Argentina productions all had subtle differences.
